Projecting the 2017 NCAA Basketball Conference Championships

Beginning one of the most fun times of the year, the conference tournaments are starting up on February 27th. As always, the conference champions for each of these tournaments are guaranteed entry into the NCAA Tournament, so we find it interesting to see how much of a chance each team has to win their conference. To achieve this, we use our proprietary NCAA basketball ratings to simulate each tournament 1,000 times. The results of these simulations is how we determine the percentages each team has to win their conference.

We will be updating this over the course of the first two weeks of March as the major conferences set their tournament schedules. Note that we are locking the projections in at the start of each tournament. As noted, we will add tournaments as the seedings become available.

The Quarters and Semis will be played on the campus of Winthrop since they won the regular season title, but the final will then be played on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
