Welcome to DRatings.com!

Welcome to DRatings.com! First off, I would like to thank everyone for visiting and supporting this website. My family and friends have been the pillar to my success and without them none of this would have ever been possible.

This project has been in the works since my senior year in college while I was doing a semester in the National Student Exchange program at UCF. With only twelve hours left to graduate and a light course load, I had more than my fair share of time on my hands. As a avid fan of college football and a penchant for numbers I wanted to devise my own college football rankings just for fun. After a semester of work, my rankings, frankly, sucked. After researching all the methods and running ideas by some really smart people I still couldn’t seem to get an accurate set of rankings. Now, over ten years later, with a Master degree in Statistics under my belt and a lot more knowledge, I have finally got these things working!

My goal was to create a set computer ratings that most accurately reflects how good a team REALLY is. There has and always will be an inherent bias in the human polls and computer polls seem to not be able to take into account “common sense”. Hopefully, my method (the Donchess Inference Index) will find a fine balance between the two.

So again, I would like to thank all of you for coming by and checking this out. I am open to all feedback (positive/negative) so please don’t hesitate to let me know what you think.
